Stop Overthinking Your Social Media Posts (They’re Easier Than You Think)

Social media doesn’t have to feel like a stage where you’re expected to perform, dance, or drop one-liners. And no, you don’t need to go full “influencer” to grow your firm online.

In this episode, I’m sharing 3 types of social media posts that are:
✨ Super helpful to your audience
✨ Cringe-free (no dancing, I promise)
✨ Easy to write, even if you’re not “a content person”
✨ Designed to build trust and show your expertise

This is the kind of strategy you can actually stick with—because it works, and it feels good to post.

Social media can feel like a circus.

One minute it’s educational, the next it’s a dance trend, and suddenly you’re wondering if you need to become a full-on entertainer just to land a client.

Spoiler alert: you don’t.

If you’ve ever said things like:
“I don’t want to be on camera.”
“I don’t know what to post without sounding cheesy.”
“I’m not trying to be a content creator.”

…then this is for you.

You can be visible and stay true to yourself

If you’re an accountant, CPA, CFO, or financial pro trying to keep your business growing while staying in your lane then you’re in the right place. You don’t need to become something you’re not. You just need a few go-to post types that feel aligned and actually work.

Here are 3 types of social posts that are:

  • Relatable
  • Easy to write
  • Designed to show your expertise (without sounding like a robot or a sales pitch)

1. Client Before & After Post

We love a good transformation story, and so does your audience.

Example:
A client came to me feeling overwhelmed with bookkeeping. Within two sessions, we built a workflow that saved her four hours a week. Here’s what we changed…

This kind of post isn’t about selling, it’s about sharing.

You’re giving people a peek at what’s possible with your help, and that builds trust way faster than “Here’s why you need to hire me.”

Results speak volumes.

2. “Did You Know?” Post

These are little gold nuggets of insight, quick, educational, and scroll-stopping.

Example:
Did you know most small business owners overpay on taxes because of this one simple mistake? (Then explain what that mistake is.)

You can use these to:

  • Bust myths
  • Share lesser-known facts
  • Tie in industry trends or headlines

It positions you as the expert, but in a way that feels like “I’ve got your back” instead of “Look how smart I am.”

3. Behind-the-Scenes Post

Let people see how you work. Show your process. Take them inside the spreadsheets, dashboards, or systems you’ve created.

Why? Because we’re all a little nosy (in the best way). And behind-the-scenes content builds connection fast.

Example:
I once showed my Airtable content hub on Stories, and the comments poured in. So many people asked for it that I turned it into a freebie (which you can grab for free below).

Show the tools you use, your setup, a project you’re mapping out, whatever makes your work real to them.

Reset of the Day: Pick One

Seriously. Pick one of the three post types above and write something today.

You just need to say:

  • “Here’s how I helped someone.”
  • “Here’s something I know that might help you.”
  • “Here’s a peek into how I work.”

That’s it.

You’re already doing the work. Now you’re just letting people in on it.
