If you’ve been around here for a while, you know my word of the year is “reset.” And honestly? There’s no better time to reset your marketing than fall.

For financial professionals: CPAs, accountants, CFOs, Q4 is stacked. Clients are scrambling. Year-end planning kicks in. Tax season looms. That means your visibility, consistency, and sanity hinge on how well you reset your strategy now… not in January when it’s too late.

Let’s walk through a super simple, doable plan to help you reset your marketing for Fall 2025 before things get chaotic.

Why Fall Feels Like a Fresh Start

Fall can feel like New Year. Kids are back in school, routines settle in, and there’s this collective “okay, let’s get serious again” energy in the air.

As a financial pro, this season is your chance to:

  • Get ahead of busy season

  • Stay consistent when most others go quiet

  • Prep your content so your future self says thank you

And if you’re like me, fresh off dropping your kids off at college (how do I have a junior and a senior?! 😭), battling Georgia heat at a football game (Go Dawgs), and easing back into a routine in Spain, you’re probably craving a little structure and simplicity right now.

Let’s build that into your marketing.

The 3-Step Reset Framework

This is the same framework I use with clients and in my own business when it’s time to recalibrate and come back strong.

Step 1: Review + Reflect

Take a look at your marketing from January through June. This is your midyear audit.

Ask yourself:

  • What posts got engagement?

  • Which emails had the highest open or click-through rates?

  • What stories or content sparked DMs or conversations?

👉 Double down on what worked.
🛑 Drop or adjust what didn’t.

Pro tip: Skip the summer months if you were inconsistent (no shame, most of us were!). That’s why January–June gives the clearest picture.

Step 2: Simplify Your Strategy

2025 is not the year of “more.” It’s the year of better.

Let’s ditch the content guilt and focus on what feels good and doable.

Ask yourself:

  • Which platforms energize you?

  • Which formats are easiest to stick with?

  • What’s draining you?

If video feels like a chore, skip it.

If LinkedIn feels more natural than Instagram, lean in there.
If carousels are working, do more of those.

Simplification isn’t slacking, it’s strategy. Because the easier it is to show up, the more consistent you’ll be.

Step 3: Prep Ahead

Say it with me: Repurpose.

Look back at last year’s Q4 and tax season content. Chances are… it’s still relevant.

Start batching those ideas now so you’re not scrambling in January while knee-deep in client work.

Ideas to prep:

  • Year-end financial checklists

  • Common tax time mistakes and how to avoid them

  • Financial myths debunked

  • Behind-the-scenes of how you prep clients

  • Repurposed tax tips from last year (because repetition builds trust)

Enter: The Great Lock-In

There’s this trend floating around TikTok called “The Great Lock-In.”

From September to December, people commit to leveling up a few areas of life, business, wellness, etc. and go all in for four months.

I love this energy. And it’s perfect for your marketing.

Think of it like this:
💡 These next 4 months = Your Marketing Great Lock-In.

What will you commit to?

  • One carousel a week?

  • A short video every other Friday?

  • A plan that’s structured but leaves space for flexibility?

You don’t need a 47-step funnel or to post 5x a week. You just need a rhythm that works for you.

What Should You Post During the Great Lock-In?

Here are 5 content ideas to keep your audience engaged through Q4:

  1. Your Year-End Checklist for business owners

  2. Common Mistakes clients make at tax time (and how to avoid them)

  3. Myth-Busting Posts – pick 2-3 myths you hear on repeat

  4. Behind-the-Scenes of how you prep for year-end

  5. Repurpose last year’s tips – they’re still gold!

You don’t have to create from scratch every week. Just show up, share, and connect.

Reset. Don’t Burn Out.

Fall is your time to reset, not overhaul, not start from scratch, but to recalibrate.

Let’s simplify. Let’s commit. Let’s prep with intention.

Because when January hits, you’ll either be:

  • Scrambling and silent, or

  • Showing up with content working quietly in the background while you serve your clients like a boss.

I want the second one for you. And if you’re thinking about outsourcing, don’t wait until you’re buried in 1099s. Let’s get your strategy set before Thanksgiving so we can hit the ground running.
